Description
Shining pale gold with delicate hints of pink, this wine exhibits aromas of ripe, golden du comice pear, gold peach, orange blossom, and marzipan. The suggestion of richness on the nose is fulfilled by the palate, which is richly textured and intensely flavoured with sweet pear syrup and golden peach. A wonderful mouth-filling treat, these rich flavours continue throughout the palate, which finishes with a wonderfully warming glow.
Winemaker: Anita Ewart-Croy
Harvested in the cool of the morning at optimal ripeness after a glorious growing season, the fruit for this wine was carefully pressed after brief skin contact before cool settling in the tank. Once slightly clarified, the juice was fermented with aroma enhancing yeast at cool temperatures, ensuring the maximum expression of the true varietal characters of fully ripe Pinot Gris. Once balanced sweetness was achieved, this wine was left on lees for several weeks to ensure textural richness and depth. Prior to bottling, the wine was delicately fined with fresh skim milk, stabilised and filtered.
